Minute Suites is the airport’s documented private rest option. It is in Concourse A, inside security. Terminal seating is a different proposition: do not count on a bed, privacy or uninterrupted sleep.

For a long overnight stop, we would compare a suite with an off-airport hotel. For a short break between flights, avoiding the extra trip out of the terminal may matter more than having a full hotel room.

Where is Minute Suites?

Both the airport and provider place it in Concourse A, but their published gate references differ: the airport says near A31, while Minute Suites says near A33. Follow the airport map and signs, or confirm with the location at 385-261-2592.

Is it open overnight?

The airport lists 24-hour operation, with a warning that hours can change with flight schedules. The provider advertises overnight stays. Confirm your specific arrival and departure window before relying on a walk-in room.

Operating hours do not guarantee access through security. A suite reservation is not permission to enter the secure terminal. If you will arrive landside, have a next-day flight, or must collect checked luggage, confirm the access plan before paying.

How much does Minute Suites cost?

Use the SLC location’s reservation link for a quote for the date and length of stay you need. We have not verified a fixed SLC price that applies to every booking, so we do not publish a generic nationwide rate as a local promise.

Ask about the total charge, minimum stay, cancellation terms, occupancy and any amenities you need. If you plan to use a lounge or card benefit, verify eligibility and the covered duration directly; do not assume it includes a whole night.

Can you sleep in the terminal without booking a room?

We have not verified an airport policy guaranteeing overnight sleeping in gate areas. If you plan to remain overnight, ask airport staff which areas you may use and whether you will need to move or pass through security again. The airport lists 24-hour information assistance at 801-575-2400 on its services page.

Treat ordinary seating as a backup, not a promised quiet sleeping area. Bring layers, an eye mask and earplugs if you expect to rest. Keep bags with you, secure valuables and set more than one alarm. Avoid blocking walkways or accessible seating, and follow staff directions.

We are not recommending a particular “quietest gate”: conditions can change with cleaning, announcements and flight activity, and we have not personally tested overnight sleeping spots.

When is an airport hotel the better choice?

A hotel is worth comparing when you have enough time to use the room after travel, check-in and the return journey. Work backward from when you need to be at the terminal, allowing for bags, security and the walk to your gate.

Before booking, confirm:

That the hotel will accept your late arrival.
Whether its shuttle runs for both your arrival and departure.
Whether pickup must be requested or reserved.
The backup transportation cost if the shuttle is unavailable.
How much time you will actually have in the room.

A day-use room gives you a specified daytime check-in and check-out window rather than a conventional overnight stay. Requesting early check-in on an overnight reservation is not the same thing: get the daytime access window confirmed before leaving the airport.

For a long daytime layover, this can provide a bed and bathroom without booking an entire night. For a shorter break, Minute Suites may leave you more usable rest time because you avoid the trip out of the airport and back through security.

Is your layover long enough?

Subtract the time to leave the airport, wait for transport, reach the hotel, check in, return, clear security and walk to your gate from the time between flights. Then compare the remaining room time with the booked daytime window.

For example, a six-hour room booking does not give you six hours of sleep during a six-hour connection. Check whether you can leave and re-enter the secure area, and account for any baggage collection or entry formalities that apply to your itinerary.

Our recommendation: choose the hotel only when the remaining rest time justifies the extra travel and cost. Otherwise, compare an inside-security suite or stay near your departure gate.

What should you do with luggage?

Ask your airline whether checked bags stay with it or must be collected during your stop. Keep essentials for the night in your carry-on when possible.
