Who's behind this site

I'm Clint Tustison. I don't live in Salt Lake City, but I have family there, so I've flown through SLC dozens of times over the past decade. Enough of them to have real opinions about its terminals, parking lots, and canyon roads.

The idea for this site started with one specific bad morning in late 2015. I showed up at the airport for a normal flight and found the terminal jammed. A NuSkin convention had wrapped up the night before, and several thousand attendees were checking out and flying home at the same time I was, most of them still wearing enough of the company's own fragrance products that you could smell the terminal before you saw it. Security backed up well past where the line normally ends. I missed my flight.

What stuck with me wasn't really the missed flight. It was that nothing could have warned me. There was no resource that tracked things like "a huge convention just let out" or "security is running long today," just generic airport content that could have been written about any airport in the country and often was. I remember thinking someone should build something better. I kept flying through SLC for the next ten years, kept running into the same gap, and kept waiting for someone else to fix it. Nobody did, so in 2026 I finally built it myself.

This isn't a professional travel-writing operation. It's one person who flies through this airport regularly, checks things in person when I can, and writes down what I actually find with the date attached, instead of repeating whatever the last aggregator site said. Some of what's here is measured firsthand; some is researched and clearly marked as such rather than presented as more certain than it is.
