Park City isn’t one destination: it’s Old Town, Canyons Village, and the Park City Mountain base area, and after the Vail merger this is the largest single ski area in the country. Getting a shuttle or rideshare drop-off wrong here means a real transfer, not a short walk. This page exists to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Proposed airport shuttle—not expected this ski season

Do not plan on this service for winter 2026–27. In a September 4 update reported by Park Record, the Park City Chamber/Bureau said there is not enough time to launch the proposed SLC–Park City shuttle for the coming ski season. Selecting an operator, arranging funding, and choosing stops remain unfinished. If approved, a launch could be around 2027, but no date is confirmed.

The concept discussed was a 15-week winter pilot costing approximately $820,000, with a possible $15 fare. Those are proposal figures, not approved service details. The shuttle is not operating or bookable. Private shuttles, rideshare, and rental cars remain the current direct-transfer options below.

Which drop-off you actually need

Park City Mountain’s base sits about a mile from Old Town. Close enough that the two functionally blend together for a shuttle booking. Canyons Village is the outlier: a genuinely separate base area roughly four miles from both Old Town and Park City Mountain, with its own village, lodging, and transit hub at the base of the Cabriolet lift. If your lodging confirmation says “Canyons Village” and you tell a shuttle driver “Park City,” you can end up four miles from where you meant to be.

The good news is this matters less than it used to, since Park City Mountain and Canyons Village are connected on-mountain by the Quicksilver Gondola once you’re actually skiing. The bigger risk is only the initial ground drop-off, not getting around once you’re there.

The free town bus, once you’re there

Park City Transit is entirely fare-free (no ticket, no app, no tap card) across 12 routes. The one that matters most for this page is Route 101 Spiro, which connects Old Town, Park City Mountain, Canyons Village, Kimball Junction (the I-80 exit most airport routes actually use), and the Jeremy Ranch park-and-ride in one loop. Buses run roughly every 15 minutes on the busier routes, generally 7:30 a.m. to midnight in winter season, and are equipped with ski and bike racks. Genuinely usable straight off a shuttle with gear, not just a commuter service.

Practically, this means a “wrong” drop-off is fixable for free rather than an expensive mistake: if you land at Old Town but needed Canyons Village, Route 101 gets you there without booking a second shuttle.

The operators named in the main ski-resorts guide serve Park City generally rather than a specific one of these three areas. Canyon Hop and similar services ask for your exact address or lodging name at booking rather than just “Park City,” so have that ready rather than assuming any drop-off works. Given the free transit connections above, the practical move is booking your shuttle to whichever area your lodging is actually in, and treating Route 101 as the backup rather than trying to guess the “most central” drop-off.
