You can get from SLC Airport to Brighton by private shuttle, rental car or connecting public transit during Ski Bus season. For travelers carrying ski bags straight to their lodging, our starting recommendation is a prebooked round-trip transfer. For a ski day from a valley hotel, compare the seasonal bus before renting a car just for the canyon drive.

Brighton sits in Big Cottonwood Canyon, beyond Solitude. Be specific when booking: a valley hotel and a cabin near Brighton are different destinations.

Is there an airport shuttle to Brighton?

Yes. Utah Mountain Shuttle offers private SLC Airport–Brighton transfers in SUVs and larger vans. Its route page lists the airport trip at approximately 35 miles.

On September 20, 2026, the operator listed $248 one way for a private SUV carrying 1–4 passengers, with possible additional fees. This is a vehicle price, not a shared-shuttle fare. Four people splitting that base price would pay $62 each before extras. Request a quote for your dates, destination and baggage.

Before paying, confirm:

Airport meeting instructions and the policy for a delayed flight.
Space for each ski bag and suitcase, not just the passenger count.
Child seats, any grocery stop and additional charges.
Whether the driver can reach your exact lodging entrance in winter.
Return pickup, cancellation terms and the policy for a canyon closure.

Book both directions if you will not have a car. Finding a ride at the airport does not establish that one will be available at Brighton when it is time to leave.

Can you take public transit from SLC Airport to Brighton?

The seasonal connection is UTA Route 972 from Midvale Fort Union Station to Solitude and Brighton. It is not a direct airport bus. Use UTA’s trip planner to connect airport transit with the route’s departure point.

UTA lists a $5 standard one-way Ski Bus fare. That is not a quoted price for the complete airport journey; check connecting fares and transfer rules. Eligible ski passes may include bus access.

At our September 20 check, we had not verified a final 2026–27 operating calendar. Check your actual travel date instead of relying on a previous winter’s timetable. Account for transfer waits, luggage and the last departure, especially after a late flight.

Driving to Brighton

The approach follows Big Cottonwood Canyon Road, SR-190. Check road conditions before setting out and compare the actual rental vehicle and tires with UDOT’s traction requirements. An SUV reservation alone does not establish that the vehicle meets those requirements.

Leave flexibility between landing and a lesson or other fixed reservation. Baggage collection, rental pickup and the canyon drive are separate parts of the journey; a navigation estimate is not an airport-to-lift promise.

Brighton parking for winter 2026–27

Brighton’s published standard parking rates are:

Reservations are required before noon on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and designated holidays. Qualifying passholders can use a free parking code but still need a reservation. Check your date and oversized-vehicle restrictions with the resort.

Rental-car travelers can book using their own plate and update it after pickup. Resort lots prohibit overnight parking; confirm overnight arrangements with your lodging.

Brighton transfer questions

Can I rely on Uber or Lyft for the return?

We would not plan a flight connection around an unconfirmed return ride. Check availability for the actual trip and arrange a backup or prebooked pickup before heading into the canyon.

Is Brighton the same transfer as Solitude?

What if my flight arrives late?

Confirm that an operator accepts your arrival time and ask how it handles delays. If the connections or lodging check-in do not work, consider a valley overnight and next-day transfer rather than relying on the final seasonal bus.
